These are our 2000 year model Pierce Quantums placed in service in mid April
of 2000. Each apparatus is housed at our three stations and are consecutively
numbered Engines 21, 22 and 23. A committee was formed which was comprised
of members of our senior staff and the captains from each station to design the
trucks. Special care was taken in the design to make all three apparatus identical
in every aspect.

Everything from the switches in the cab and the frequencies in the radios to the
configuration of the tools in the compartments has been strategically located so
that a member of any of the three engine companies can go to any of the three
apparatus and its operations will be the same.

The trucks have some really neat features on them. The entry steps on the cab flip up and down
automatically when any door is opened or closed. This makes for easy entry and exit of
the apparatus by a fully geared firefighter. This design is exclusive to Pierce Mfg. and is
only offered on their Quantum line. This feature also
allows for more interior floor space giving it the most interior space available on any
Pierce fire truck.

The cab is large enough to hold ten crew members. However, we designed it for seven to
provide more elbow room for firefighters. The dashboard is ergonomically shaped around
the driver and officer seats enabling easy use of all controls and radios. The cab is
fully air conditioned with heated, power mirrors and power windows. The rear crew
portion of the cab is tall enough for a 6 firefighter to standup without hitting
his head. The cab also doubles as a great place for firefighters to climb into and
cool off.

The cab also tilts up to reveal the apparatus's awesome power plant. A 500HP Detroit Series
60 coupled to an Allison automatic transmission with integrated retarder push this
beast down the road.

The apparatus are equipped with a hydraulic ladder storage rack. When in the stowed
position, the ladders are above the apparatus, enabling the incorporation of compartments
on the passenger side where ladders are normally mounted. With the flip of a switch,
the rack comes down to a manageable level for the ladders to be deployed.

The pump operator's panel is mounted on top of the truck. This gives the operator full
view of the scene. The panel features all valves and gauges needed to operate the
apparatus's eight preconnected foam inducted handlines, which can flow Class A or Class B
foam from the apparatus's two 40 gallon foam cells. The apparatus also carries 1250 gallons of
water and can pump up to 1500 GPM. Each apparatus carries 1100 of 5 supply hose with
Storz couplings.

All of the handlines are color coordinated from the pump lever to the handle on the nozzle.
On top of the cab is a full feature 3000 watt light tower that is controlled from
the pump panel and there are four 300 watt flood lights located around the perimeter
of the truck. A 10,000 watt Amps hydraulic generator is onboard to power the
lighting system. The generator also powers our electric positive pressure fans
via a 200 electric cord reel mounted on the truck.

The vinyl graphics, which are Cypress Creeks trademark, are not only nice looking,
but they are functional. All graphics are 100% reflective, creating a billboard
effect when hit by light that results in excellent night time visibility.
The rear of the truck has a 200 booster reel, a 300 2, and 2 1 ¾ attack lines. It also
incorporates an ArrowStick traffic warning device and back up cameras with a
monitor at the drivers seat.
We at Cypress Creek are proud of these pumpers and encourage
all to come out and see them for yourselves. Many hours were put into the
design of these trucks and maybe you can pick up some ideas for your next
purchase.
